The latest unemployment rates on this interactive map are for October 2014, obtained from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.  Desktop users can hover on a state to uncover figures and rank information.  Smart phone or tablet users can click on the state to see the details.

You can download latest records shown in this post.  Total 3,195 records including states and counties.  Available fields are Place or County Name, State Name, Population, Population Percent Change (April 1, 2010 to July 1, 2013), Unemployment Rate (% ages 16 and over).  Follow instructions below to save a copy of your CSV file.

As a benchmark, US unemployment rate in October 2014 was 5.8%.  Refer to the following table to see what’s the rate for each individual state.  The rank is sorted in ascending order i.e. lower rank means lower unemployment rate.
